One of the Tigers' captains in 2004, Kaily was leader both on and off the field. Along with Dana Walsh, Kaily gave the Tigers a dual threat on both offense and defense. McGrath's best game of the year came against NorPac rival Stanford on October 23rd as the Tigers defeated the Cardinal 2-1. Offensively, McGrath factored in both of Pacific's goals as she sent a shot towards the goal on a corner penalty play, allowing her teammates to redirect the shot into the goal. Then late in the second half, McGrath blocked a Stanford shot that was headed for the back of the Pacific NorPac West Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 18th - Oct. 24th.<b>2003 (Sophomore):</b>Kaily appeared in 13 of Pacific's 16 games during 2003, starting three contests. A key member of the Pacific defense that held opponents to one goal or less 11 times last season, including the last seven games of the 2003 season.<b>2002 (Freshman):</b>McGrath played in 14 of the Tigers' 18 contests in 2002, including five starts. Kaily gave the Tigers great depth on the defensive end as a freshman, allowing Pacific to keep a fresh team on the field.<b>High School:</b>McGrath attended Camarillo High School, but competed in field hockey for the Camarillo Cougars club team. McGrath led the Cougars to the 2001 Gold Medal at the National Hockey Festival. McGrath also earned individual recognition as the 2001 California State Games Athlete of the Year and the 2001 California State Games Field Hockey Athlete of the Year. In addition, McGrath was the MVP and captain of the Camarillo Cougars and claimed the most dedicated player award following her final season. Off the field, Kaily was a member of the color/winter guard and in the classroom she claimed the Physics Award as well as the U.S. Mathematics Award.<b>Personal:</b>Kaily McGrath is the daughter of Tim and Voni McGrath. She is the youngest of four children, Shawn (28), Abe (27) and Steve (26). In her fourth year at Pacific, Kaily is a sport sciences major.<b>MacDonald on McGrath:</b>"Kaily has an excellent transition from defense to attack. She has the ability to play either side of the field. With her strong, accurate hit, she could be a threat on offensive corners as well."
